End of the Year Activities!!!

It's hard to believe that we are quickly drawing to the end of the school year!!! Here is a little information about the last few days of school and what your students will need to bring/not bring!

The 29th, 30th and 31st students DO NOT need to bring anything to school.  We will be having ER @ 12 each day and will not be serving lunch before they leave.

Our end of the year party is going to be Thursday morning.  We are going to do a breakfast party.  We are asking for muffins, donuts, fruit, juice ect.  The sign up sheet is in the front office if you would like to help bring stuff for the party!

Field Day is going to be Wednesday the 30th.  Students who purchased field day shirts may where those on this day.  If you did not purchase a field day shirt you may wear a spirit shirt or your tye dye shirt from last year if you'd like.  Students need to wear sneakers on this day.  Field Day will last from 8:30-11:30.  We will be having a snow cone rotation and a rest rotation.  We are asking for parents to bring waters and indivisual bags of chips for the classes during the rest rotation.  You can sign up to help with bringing these things on our end of the year party sign up sheet that's at the front.  Parents are welcome to come and attend Field Day if they'd like to! :)

On Tuesday students will be watching a movie on Tuesday morning and may bring a pillow OR blanket to use on the floor while we watch the movie.

Also, Spring Sing has been moved from Tuesday the 22nd at 6:00 to Thursday the 24th at 6:00.

Colonies Test

Good Afternoon!!!
The students are bringing home a review sheet for their test over ALL 13 colonies!  The test will be NEXT Wednesday May 23rd!  I wanted to give the students plenty of time to study all of the information.  Each review packet contains all 3 review sheets that the students recieved prior to the individual colonies quizzes (Southern, Middle, New England) as well as a map with all of the colonies and key cities labeled.  Students will be responsible for being able to label each of these on the test as well.

Students will be completing a project in class this week over a colony.  They will be working in groups to create posters over their assigned colonies.  We will present the projects on Friday and Monday (if needed) and then we will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing for the test on Wednesday!

If you have any other questions about the test feel free to email me at rpruett@responsiveed.com!

Have a great day!

Test Corrections

Good Afternoon Parents,

I wanted to let you all know that your students will be bringing home their Southern Colonies Test that the students took last Friday.  Attached to the front of each test is an orange sheet of paper talking about your student’s option to make test corrections.  I understand that there was a lot of material covered on this test between the map and the information.

There are different instructions for making corrections, based upon your student’s original score.  We had several students who passed and even made A’s and B’s.  Students will earn points for making correct corrections to their tests.  Again this is all explained on the orange sheet attached to the front of the test.

Please have your students make corrections and then sign and return the orange sheet and test to me by tomorrow.  Students do not have to make corrections, but I must get the test and orange sheet back signed tomorrow.

If a student earned a grade and it was high enough that they did not need to make corrections, it is marked on their orange sheet and they do not need to return the test or orange sheet.

If you have any questions I will be checking my email throughout the evening at home.  I will stop checking them about 9:00 pm, so please try and get me any questions before then.

I will also be posting this email to the blog website.  http://www.vista3rdgrade.blogspot.com/
